Steering column switch
Mite be a dumb question, can you combind a auto tilt column with a nontilt 4 speed column to make a 4 speed tilt? Have both and my '68 is going to be a 5 speed in the near future, and I would like too have a tilt for it.
Thanks for your help |

Re: Steering column switch
No the parts will not interchange between tilt and standard columns. Some people have ground the shift knob off of the auto tilt and filled with JB weld with good results to convert.

Re: Steering column switch
I have a column in the paint booth right now that was just a regular van tilt, and I ground and filled the shifter bowl and the indicater hole. Now it looks very similar to what floor shifted tilt should look like. I'll try to remember to take some pics today and post'em up

Re: Steering column switch
Keep in mind I have not put a finish on this, still trying to decide on the color of the int or black. I think all tilts were black is that right ?
