Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
SO...... I've Got the Ugly Rust Causing Tripod Camper Style Mirrors on my 88 GMC Crew Cab Dually.... and I Would love to get rid of them and put mirrors in the Vent window locations.....Any One Done this..... I'm Not Concerned About Brand (GMC/Chevy, Dodge or Ford) Customization Isn't an Issue... Cause I Can Handle That... Heres What I'm Looking at (all the Following are the HEAVY DUTY MIRROR STYLE) the 07 or Newer GMC/Chevy, The Folding Dodge Mirrors, and When ever Ford Changed from the 94-96 F-150 Body Style Superduty to the Current Superduty
ME " I wanna Swap Out the Tripod Mirrors On The Truck... With Mirrors Placed in the Vents..... I know What I Want But Not the Exact Years of The Vehicles..... I'm looking for 07 or Newer GMC/Chevy heavy Duty Mirrors The Dodge Foldable Heavy Duty Mirrors, and the Heavy Duty Mirrors From a Ford Superduty.... I'm Just trying to get prices" Parts Guy "sorry Guy I can't help ya... WE have a Self Service area you can Come and pull parts from...." ME "I told you all The Mirrors off the Chevy/Gmc are 07 or newer.... I know about the U-pull-it.... them vehicles are 10yrs old or OLDER... and I'm Not sure bout the years the folding Mirrors are on the Dodge's or The Extending Mirrors on The Ford Super Duty's........" Parts Man "Well when ya get the info ya need call back"

Re: Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
I am in the process of installing some custom mirrors also, not in the triangle window tho. Totally possible i say about 10-15 hrs. of work. heres wut you need to do. get some sheet metal and make a template of the folding triangle window opening . cut the shet metal to that size tack along the edges, fit the mirror copy trace bolt pattern, grind tacks bondo and glaze then screw mirrors. Good idea should look good.

Re: Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
windows are great, seal up good, install was a b-tch took forever to get them adjusted to what I thought was correct. I have an extra set of these mirrors that are new old stock but you are correct they are hard to come by.

Re: Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
The red truck is my buddies and it is a mix of different parts if I told you I knew I would be lying but for a static drop it sits perfect. As for towing with these mirrors I have not. But they would work great moved forward on the door makes them easy to see and they are wide so you have good visual with them.

Re: Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
I have a set of Hummer H3 mirrors I was trying to use on mt 72, but they dont fit the contour of the door... They will probably fit on the 73-87 doors and clear the vent windows...

Re: Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
I was thinking about Honda Fit mirrors- they seem to fit the contour of the doors up high pretty well.

Re: Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
Have you not tried elephant ears? They adjust easy and make a great cup holder at a party. as long as you have a grease on the holes they won't rust.

Re: Mirrors.... anbody Moved'm to the vent window location
If you want to go further with the "Dumbo" mirrors and don't mind doing some wiring work, you can grab a set of power ones from a 1991-95 G van or a similar year Dodge truck or van.
