58 0n a 89 4x4 chassis
I want to do a chassis swap with a 58 long box on a 89 chevy 2500 4x4. Has any body tried this or have any hints.

Re: 58 0n a 89 4x4 chassis
I'm looking into that very swap with a 1500 4x4 frame,, the outside measurements for the front tires is right at 74-75" that puts them right at the edge of the front fenders..I'm still looking for the right truck that I can measure all the things that will be important (frame width tire width) I think the bed floor will have to raised because of the rear frame rise..
I will post more when I find a good truck to measure.. |

If you do some research I think you also have to raise the cab and radiator support/fenders too.

Off memory about 4-5" but do a deep search of the site and a couple of threads will show up, this has been discussed in detail in the last 6 months. I think it has to do with firewall and trans hump clearance too.
