Well I am just curious whar you guys think it would do.

350 .030 over, edelbrock intake, cam, carb and timing set, flowtech headers w/dual 2.5 and flownasters, rebuilt 882 heads, TH350, 3.40 rear, and 275 tires.Don't kno what else you guys will need to know, Thanks for any replies.

I'm thinking mid 15's if everything is up to snuff.

My bud had a 86' swb 4x4 with that same motor; flattops, 204/214 cam, performer intake, 600 holley, open 1 5/8 headers, 3.42 gears, TH700R4, 31" tires. His best was a 16.17 at around 83mph.

Shorter tires and less weight will make yours quicker. Your track altitude will make a diference too.

I hope faster than high 16's or some 305's here with a 700R4 will edge you out.

IS that the 1/8th mile??
Damn if you have a stock 305 about to run 14's you need to call Guiness!! holy crap!! haha New Chevy trucks dont run that stock with the 4.8.....MOST the time.

Also ....15.1@ 85 doesnt sound quite right....what was your 60 ft? 1.4? Not trying to hate but damn.... most cars/trucks that run 85 mph are right around 15.7-16.3 e.t.'s with 2.0-2.4 60 ft's. Most stock trucks wont pull better than 2.2's unless they have really sticky tires and lots of suspension work in the rear.
Please give us more info on this....

DAMN BOYS!! Looks like we got us a G Stomper!!! Watch out holmes!!! hahahaa

LOL dave I think your right on this one. Just like that guy on 73-87chevytrucks who claimed 12's using 305 heads and a 270H cam on a basiclly stock 350

I would hope the first combo should get low to mid 15's at worst.

I think some of you guys are pickin' through the trash at the track fishing for good time-slips. But seriously, if you can run below 16.0 you've accomplished something with your set up.

I'm just hoping I run like a mid 14 with my setup. (Except I'll have a 3.42 posi and sticky tires)

take your bedliner out , and pull the gate off when you get there.
I did that and its good for a couple of tenths , as long as you have good traction. If your running street tires dont do a burnout , drive around the waterbox. I noticed when i heated up my radial ta's it got loose out of the hole worse.
Is that a long box or a swb ? just wondering

If this was aimed at me...
I don't have a bedliner, nor do I have a gate. When my truck was 100% stock, it weighed 3650#, now with the mods I've done, I'm hoping it's closer to 3400#
Who knows...we'll just have to wait and see till' it's tuned in right and I get to the track.

Tim, you may want to weigh that thing again. i'd say closer to 4650, my '82 weighed almost 5000 with my best friend still sitting in the seat (so probably around 4850)

Yeah, I thought it was a little light too, but yeah, that's the DMV weighing this truck (Because it's registered as a commercial vehicle, it HAS to be weighed BY the DMV..they weighed it at 3650..remember, I have NO POWER ANYTHING as well as no deluxe anything.)
