Found some interesting art

I was looking at the "$50 and under mods" thread and somehow it lead to a cool website that included this unusual art similar to but pre dating art like Von Dutch. Take a look, it's very cool!

This guy was producing this art in the 40s, a couple decades before VonDutch. Apparently he used to do covers for popular magazines back then.

Re: Found some interesting art

where is the orig link?

that's a air cooled 6 cyl usually found in general aviation. like cessnas, pipers, etc...
the cool part is.. the base bolts, carb, intake etc... all that stuff is pretty close to correct..
so they put alot of time into making sure that looked like you average lycoming... and then did the head thing...

i like it.. i would love a print if you have a link anywhere

I found those at "jalopyjournal", I couldn't get the link to show up, I don't know dhat im doing wrong. (anyone care to clue me in?) the website has about 35 different drawings of his, I also searched his name and found hundreds of his works, he did something like 200 covers for Time magazine as well. The man could also do some incredible potraits. There are a lot of his original prints for sale that fetch quite a bit of money. There are also sites that sell posters of a lot of his work. Google his name, you will find a lot! I printed a few on my printer and they come out very nice.
