Clutch / Slave Cylinder problems! Please help!

Hello all - I have a 94 chevy 4x4 5speed. It has the hydraulic clutch / slave cylinder.

Here's my situation..... I unbolted the part that goes into the transmission/ bell housing trying to get to the starter to work on it.

Well, when i bolted it back in, the clutch pedal went to the floor once with almost no "back pressure" against my food, and now is just stiff - won't depress at all. I have tried 3 times to take it back out of the bell housing (2 bolts hold it in), but same result. Have I messed something up? Is it just mis-aligned?

Hoping I can fix this on my own. There was no fluid leakage, it just seems to be not lined up right or something... maybe there's a trick i don't know about!?

Thanks so much for any help that you can give!
David
