Seat foam swap?

Last weekend I bought a bench seat from a 1980 Chevy to go into my 1980 GMC because it was mint and mine was torn. It's blue and my interior is red, but I'm going to reupholster anyway. Problem is that it's non-folding, and my seat is folding - not a huge deal, but figured I might have the extra utility. Is it possible to swap seat foam from the good, non-folding seat to the folding bench frame?

Thanks!

Re: Seat foam swap?

i think they are different but you can buy a thin piece of foam to put on the old seat to build it up for a seat cover installation

I thought about that, but since there's a big chunk missing out of the drivers side, I'm not sure how it would work out longevity-wise

Just wondering if there's anyone out there who's done a similar conversion?

Re: Seat foam swap?

I AM SORRY I MISREAD YOUR FIRST POST it will interchange between an 80 chevy and GMC i first read 1988 to 1980... i really need to wear my eyeglasses if its only the bottom of the seat thats bad use the good bottom from the non folding seat and attach the folding hardware to that
