tune up questions
My 84 was my grandfathers truck since it was new. It has 349k miles on it but on 20k on the 305 and trans. I'm looking to do a tuneup on it this week and curious as to what kinda oil is recommended and also plugs and wires. I have a 355ci built motor we ran in on of our old race cars but I'm waiting to finish the build before I drop it in. So just want to make sure the 305 and took care of.

Re: tune up questions
Some good AC Delco plugs and some good aftermarket wires are usually a good start. I also like the K&N air filters, they help a little bit. I'd just go through the fluids, obviously change the oil. Check the condition of the radiator, and if necessary, flush it and run new antifreeze. Check the tranny fluid also as well as the filter. Make sure there are no vacuum leaks or other miscellaneous bugs, too.Other than that, just make sure the carb is tuned right and it should treat you very well.
