Rolls Royce at my local Hot Rod Shop - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I went to visit my friend who owns a Hot Rod shop.
He was working on a Rolls Royce that had been in Storage for 9 years.
I found it interesting to look at it.
It looked like a 30 year old restoration,(possible back in the 70's).
Bondo Cracks, Orange Peel ect, but I thought I'd share with the members here.
I was told the Frame, Headlights Radiator and Hood were R.R.,
but the rest of the Panels were fabricated.

Thoughts?

i'd call BS on that, looks more like a kit car, i'll bet the frame was much later and NOT RR. But hey it probably gets more than it's fair share of looks as its unique and different. The things some people build, they probably think folks who spend boatloads of $$$ on old Chevy trucks are crazy too....

it's neat, but mostly looks off. Redo entire dash, change the wheels and it might sneak below my bs radar. Still a cool car for what it is. You can put yellow mustard in a grey poupon bottle but it's still going to be yeow mustard.

Just kidding. These ain't for sale just yet. I've seen similar on English tool auction sites going for 500+ pounds-which is 7 or 8 hundred dollars depending on exchange.

RR actually did make a car that looked like that. A friend of mine had one here in Houston. I never saw it all together. it was one of the least expensive ones made. he said back in 1990 it was only worth maybe 10,000 unrestored. it was a two seater that looked like that. It could be a real one but hard to tell in pictures. the one I saw was original with no top and was a part.

is that wood on the "trunk"? it looks like it with the cracks. I'm not sure of the terminology but I have a coffee table my Dad built in the 80s that has the same theme. it takes a lot of work to do that.
it also looks like wood on the fenders and rear sides

My 1st thought was that it was wood.
It is raised and does have cracks.
I originally thought it was painted to LOOK like wood.
I'll find out more today, as I'm stopping by the Shop, and I'll check it out while I'm there.
Now you've got my curriosity peaked.

That is a pretty cool car either way. I also see a pretty sweet 40 Deluxe next to it too. Do you have any more pics of it?

Pretty Sure that steering column is from a 70's or 80's GM vehicle. Black plastic turn stalk gives it away...

All in all, pretty cool though. Definitely different

Not sure about whether it is a real Rolls or not, but as for GM parts, didja know that Rolls used GM TH400 transmissions for a time?
