ls motor mount adapters
i have a 5.3 motor I'm putting in my 85 crew cab 4x4 so my question is what is the best motor mount adapter? or should i just make my own? im going to be using the stock exhaust manifoilds and ac will stay in the stock location on the 5.3 motor... i know i will have to trim the frame but what motor mount adapter will work the best? from what i can see some move the motor forward 2'' and some let it bolt into the stock location? I'm making new drive lines so the tranny and T case location shouldn't matter. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: ls motor mount adapters
Gonna have enough power with a 5.3?? Buddy has a Tahoe with that motor and isn't really anything special....

Re: ls motor mount adapters
its not the motor i wanted... but it was cheep and it came from the same truck as my dash. i will get a 6.0 sometime down the road. i don't tow that much so not to worried about it plus it will have more power than my 97 350 vortec motor i was going to use

Re: ls motor mount adapters
I used the $30 swap mount plates on ebay for my 6.0 build. Clutch fan fit in stock fan shroud, A/C fit in frame perfect, etc... The expensive mounts are a waste of money in my opinion. The cheap ones work perfect. Search
The 6.0 Silverad build for pics.

Re: ls motor mount adapters
Pacific Fab makes a really nice set-up for 4x4's & that's what we went with in my K30.
