Is it a good deal?
I was looking for a frame with a stepnotch already welded in and came along this one. I am not sure what the going rate is for frames. This one is boxed and z'ed. The guy wants 200 for it. I haven't seen it in person yet, but here are some pics. When I do go look at it, what should I make sure to look at?

Re: Is it a good deal?
200 is a great deal but I question the a-arms and wonder if it's square or not...
Also, the rear notch probably could use some cross bracing.... also, what motor was it set up for? Looks like big block mounts (?) which you'd have to change if you're going sbc...

As for squareness, I am assuming that you are talking where it's got the goofy square tubing welded up? |

Re: Is it a good deal?
looks like the entire cross member is welded to the frame, that might make it kind of difficult if you need to change any component.
A arms need to go, they are too sketchy looking.

Re: Is it a good deal?
Wondering if the frame is square itself....measure front to rear diagonally and from the front crossmember ends to the frame rails and from the rear of the notches to the rear frame rail....

Ya, i would not trust someone elses fab work for something like this, you would be much better off getting a stock frame and doing the work yourself

Re: Is it a good deal?
I would take that straight to the recycler.
There is a reason why its not under a truck.

Re: Is it a good deal?
Think about it, someone put a ton of time and money into that frame. And now they are basically giving it away? Why? Probably cause it's junk. I agree with the earlier posts, this kind of work is better handled by yourself or farmed out to someone reputable. Not purchased second hand where you know nothing about what was done!

Re: Is it a good deal?
while I agree with the above comments....check to see if the spindles are drop spindles and in good shape. Plus, the frame looks fully boxed. If it was square i'd buy it for the frame, spindles, and brakes, and notch, (and possibly crossmember after checking out how it works with steering...and cut off/scrap the rest...
(spindles/brakes are worth over 200 if it's drop spindles)

Re: Is it a good deal?
Looks like hammer marks on this side of the step notch.
