6cyl 3 spd in a deluxe???

Found this on CL today, (not mine) says its a 6 cyl 3spd. Did they make a that combo with a deluxe package? Got all the trim and sorts.

I'm waiting to hear back to see if i can get a pic of the SPID, i'm very intrigued what the options were on this.

As far as I know, yes. You could have any transmission/engine combo with any trim level. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: 6cyl 3 spd in a deluxe???

I talked to him, the grills been changed, it's a base truck with the custom trim. Interesting someone would order a truck with a 6 and 3 on the tree with the custom deluxe trim package.

Re: 6cyl 3 spd in a deluxe???

Back then you could order just about any combination of things you wanted. There were no drivetrain/trim combos like today. If you wanted a CST 6 cyl 3 on the tree, you could get it.

Re: 6cyl 3 spd in a deluxe???

3spd was the standard transmission. So,unless an automatic or 4spd option was ordered any trim level would come that way. You could get a CS model Cheyenne and if no optional transmission it would be a 250/3spd. You could have more options on a base truck than a top-of-the-line.

Re: 6cyl 3 spd in a deluxe???

Cool thanks i wasnt aware of all that.

I looked at it today, he bought it in tenn, had it shipped up. It has virtually no rust at all. But it's dented up pretty bad on the bed. Needs interior, and a lot of tlc. Nice truck for someone with deep pockets, and that's not me.
