Ok so I'm almost done swapping everything from my 92 Silverado 1500 onto a 89 GMC 2500 and I just went to put in the driveline and the caps keep the u joint from sitting right. Is there a difference between 1500 and 2500 u joints? Can I just swap the yolks out from the 1500? Do I need to find 2500 drivelines? Somebody please point me in the right direction

Re: driveline question
Should just need a combo joint to get it right, if you get someone that actually knows what they are doing at the local parts store its a simple fix.

Re: driveline question
I managed to get the front driveline on and bolted up. The rear is just being a royal P.I.T.A. ill try and swing by the parts house before work tomorrow and see if anybody has an IQ over 100 points.

Re: driveline question
Ok so once again ive proven that autozone is full of morons. Anyway I had the guys at napa run the part numbers and i have to use a 2500 u joint and driveline. Only thing to watch out for is the slip joints. Somewhere along the way the number of splines changed. Picked up a driveline after work and got lucky. It bolted right up
