Light switch bezel nut

Are there original style light switch bezel nuts available for my '64. I have found some aftermarket ones that are not very close. I replaced the switch but can get the old one out becasue the bezel nut wont turn and it is getting to the point of just having to drill it out and replace. A good used one would work for me too.

Thanks!

Re: Light switch bezel nut

if your talking about getting the pullrod out of the headlight switch unit so you can get the nut off, The way to do it is reach under the dash and feel around the headlight switch unit for a small button you press in, when your holding the button in turn the headlight switch knob/rod and turn it (i belive all the way to the left been awhile) and pull out and it should come all the way out(might have to turn back and forth and push and pull till it pops out i have had some stubborn ones before)..Then you take a flat blade put it in the slot like in the above picture of the nut, and un screw....hope this helps

Re: Light switch bezel nut

You can always take a used nut and wetsand and polish it if you need for it to look new.

Re: Light switch bezel nut

My experience was that...

I had to pull the knob out as far as it would go then depress the release button on the switch then remove the know the rest of the way. It did me no good to depress the button first prior to pulling the switch from the Lights out" position.
