How about some pics of cool shift knobs
I'm looking for ideas on a shift lever knob other than the norm, any ideas or pictures?

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
I just went through this same thing.....looking for a unique shift knob.
Check out speeddawg.com, if you looking for a round knob. There are a few other online shift knob places that offer anything you can think of to mount to a shifter. I ended up having speeddawg make a custom shift knob with an inlaid shift pattern that I designed. Its going on a 6 speed. |

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
Old crystal door knobs look cool. So do lawn mower pistons

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
Just checked out speeddawgs site alot of cool ideas there, but I think I like the lawn mower piston idea by special K. I'd have to search for this if nobody has any pics of one.

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
You can buy just the ithreaded inserts to fit your shift lever and turn anything you want into a shift know.
Go find a junk lawnmower and use that piston. That would be cool. |

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
I used to have a unique glass ball shifter in a 1938 International truck that I inherited from my grandfather many years ago. It was a creme colored glass ball with green multi-colored swirls in it.
My Uncle got the truck before I could remove that ball and I have never been able to find another one. It would be perfect in my '69 Chevy... Al |

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
I was just at a Harley dealer yesterday and was looking at their cue balls with the HD eagle logo thinking that would be a cool one to make into a knob.

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
This was my shifter for several years. A 1 1/8 wrench drilled and bolted to a hurst comp-plus. I grew tired of it though after time.
Here's my new setup. Plain vanilla hurst. It goes along with the minimalist style of my truck. It's similar to the original knobs of some very cool old GM cars.

I have one of the 8 ball shifters in my truck. Some guy sells them on Ebay.

Re: How about some pics of cool shift knobs
Here's my home made shift knob, it's from a worn out small block cam. I still need to paint and polish it up, but it does work quite well.
