Hoses
So, this coming weekend, I plan to drain and replace the coolant since it can't handle temps below 20* right now. While I am at it, I want to reroute the heater hoses further away from the headers and look more professional than just criss-crossing each other. How much water should I expect to drain so I can plan a proper sized bucket to use.
At the same time, I also want to redo the tranny cooling hoses. Here is my question, if I had those hose run straight up the firewall and follow the passenger side fender, will that in any way impede the flow of the oil? Also, the vacuum line for the tranny is bizarre. It appears to have clear tubing coming out of it that connects to a 3/8" steel line which then turns to rubber hose for the carb. Would there be anything wrong with just using rubber hose from the tranny to the carb? This is also another line that hangs dangerously close to the headers. One last thing, I am taking the brake booster of the PCV port of carb and installing it in the back where it belongs. Will the carb be ok with the PCV port blocked? Thanks!

Re: Hoses
1) A 5 gallon bucket should be fine if you have one.
2) Why do you need to re-do your trans cooling hoses? If they aren't leaking, leave them alone. But no, it shouldn't affect the flow noticeably anyway. 3) No 4) Why not hook your PCV up instead of blocking it off???

Quote:
2.) They are an eye-sore zip-tied with white zip ties. Plus, they can hang on or near the headers. 4.) I have breather caps in both valve covers
