Turbo Question

Do we have any turbo guys in here? If we do great, I was wondering if your oil temps went up with a turbo/turbo's mounted in a street driven ride? If the temp went up, by how much and did you switch to a different oil weight because of it.

Re: Turbo Question

When I built my 86 Regal two years ago oil temps with the stock turbo would hit 225 on a hot summers day. I switched it to a 76 MM BB Precision with an external waste gate I hit 275 degrees the first outing. I added a remote oil filter with a cooler with RotellaT 15W40 they came back down to 205 at the hottest. Stock boost as 6 pounds. The PT turbo hit 32 pounds on Meth.
