Re: Help me pick a muffler..

I'm fond of Magnaflow myself. I had a Magnaflow dual in/single out on my '99 Yukon and had the exit ran to the stock location, but tucked up near the body. At idle it was about as quiet as stock. At cruising speeds it was barely louder than stock. But if you put your foot into it, you got a nice, mellow but throaty rumble.

Magnaflow FTMFW Avoid jumping on the flowcrapper bandwagon, They are ****ty mufflers and do not flow, I had the American thunder system on my first 97 ecsb and the best day was the one where i took it off and installed a magnaflow single 3 inch exit, power was restored. remember the larger the case on the muffler the more sound it knocks out.

I put a Jardine cat-back on my 94 5.7 all stock. Nice and quiet at idle and cruising and has a nice sound when I jump on it.

Re: Help me pick a muffler..

I agree with the Magnaflow. I've had Magnaflows and Flowmasters on different vehicles - 3 pickups, a '67 Pontiac Lemans, etc. - and always liked the Magnaflows better. Or, ya know, just go to Advance Auto Parts and spend a few bucks on a piece of pipe. Dad will get used to it.

Re: Help me pick a muffler..

I gotta add another vote for magnaflows have heard nothing but good stuff about them mostly. I had a flopro muffler on my old blazer single in dual out the back behind the tires. Sounded good but quiet at idle and pretty throaty when you were on it. Guess it just depends how loud he wants it lol.

Re: Help me pick a muffler..

I've really like the turbo style mufflers. not too much louder than stock most of the time, but certainly deeper. has a NICE sound to it when ya get on it!
