Thanks for the pics. I'm trying to reproduce the decal but I'm having a problem making the small printing show up when I make the decal that size... Back to the drawing board... LockDoc

Re: Pics for chewychevy67
Too funny! I measured the small letters and they are aprox 3/32 tall if that helps.

Thanks. To get the small letters 3/32" tall I have to make the overall decal size 1-3/4" X 3". I can't quite figure this one out... LockDoc

Re: Pics for chewychevy67
Thanks. I think I may have it figured out.. I just printed out three different sizes for comparison. If you want to PM me your address I will send you one of each size so you can check them against yours, to see which one will work the best. I have Rod's address and I will send him one of each size too, to see which one he thinks will work.. They won't have the adhesive backing on them but other than that they are the finished product. Thanks again for your help.

Re: Pics for chewychevy67
Mailed them out to you and chewychevy67 this morning. If they smell like baby powder, that's my secret weapon to throw the dogs off...
Here's a teaser pic. LockDoc

Re: Pics for chewychevy67
Got them today! I know... I wouldve gotten them yesterday had I checked the mail... LOL
Small one looks to be a dead ringer if the lettering was gold.... Nice work! |

Thanks Buddy. Do you think the lettering started out Gold or has it changed with age and heat? I'm betting it started out Black & White... So that decal has a #1 on it? LockDoc

Re: Pics for chewychevy67
I'm pretty sure it started out gold as it is uniform in color all the way across. The lettering almost looks like gold foil. I forgot to check the number on the back but it was the smallest one of the bunch, I will check tomorrow though for sure.

Bummer, I have no way of telling what shade the Gold is. Take a look at this and see if you can tell if any of them are close.. Darker on the left medium in the middle, and lighter on the right. It may not be big enough. LockDoc

Re: Pics for chewychevy67
i would say the darker side would be closer. i would say it is similar to gold tin foil in coloring.

I won't be able to re-create the foil look but I should be able to get the color close. I will try it in a few days. LockDoc
