Torque Clutch Converter

How did you guys wire up your TCC brake wire ?

I know you can use relays but I also read that you can use a later model brake switch signal that will fit in the original space.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

do not have that wired up and I still get lock up and it unlocks. PCM controls it by MPH.

Really? Thats interesting. I was just going off the LT1swap site, so I figured most were wiring it up but maybe I was wrong.

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Torque Clutch Converter

If you want it to work, just have it tapped into the brake light from the factory wiring.
Many swaps we do also dont have VSS either :-O with no issues. but will say the ETC/DBW set ups look to be needing this information (VSS) but still trying to see if I can make it work without it....

Re: Torque Clutch Converter

I switched over to a 4post brake pedal switch; does the same thing as the stock 2 post on my 66 but gives you a place to hookup the 2 wires for tcc. I have a part # if you need it.

A part # and even a picture if you have it would be great!

Re: Torque Clutch Converter

Just FYI you need the TCC connection to the brake switch for cruise control to work.

Not sure if any of you cared or not just passing on info.

Napa Part number is MP #SL186SB or Echlin #SL186, same thing, 2 different product lines. 4-p0st brake switch for vehicles with cruise control.

Re: Torque Clutch Converter

Thanks for the pic and info... I also found another post earlier and just bought one that uses a 99-04 camaro switch and bought the wiring pigtails to go with it.

I am going to put cruise on so I care... thanks also for the input!

Re: Torque Clutch Converter

Guys,

Bumping this back up. Do any of you happen to have the part number for the pigtail/connector for the tcc half of that brake switch? I got the switch itself and just have spade terminals on it for now, but would like the connector for later

thanks

Re: Torque Clutch Converter

I got a brake light switch for a 99-04 camaro. It has six wires, 2 plugs. One plug has two wires the other has four wires. Plug with four wires part number pt483 plug with two wires part number 1p1698 brake switch part number d889a. Look under 99 camaro then electrical connector for the plugs and electrical switch and relay. There are other year swiches that you can use to make this work. Hope this helps.
