Recently, My cab and dome light have stopped working. i just bought a new dome light with lens and bulb, but have noticed that there is a connector on it that I dont see on the old one (it is probably tucked up in there, I just dont see how I am supposed to get to it. What do you guys think? Where might I be able to intercept these wires elsewhere in the cab if I just to run new wire? No fuses are blown.

There should be a connector right at the fuse box. It should be pretty easy to get to.

So the wire from the dome light has fallen down inside the rear of the cab.

A 44-year old truck needs new wiring, if it hasn't been replaced. If the wiring is still visible, get a new harness and attach it to the old one with electrical tape, then pull the new one into place with the old one. Once you get it out of the places you can't see, then you can route it from the back of the cab, to the fuse box.

If it has fallen down into the nether regions of the cab, you'll need a stiff wire to feed down (electrical fish tape, for example) that you can snake down and attach the new (old) wiring to to get it back into place.

The wire on both cab and dome lights are there and are in full reach. After looking at the dome light, I see that there is a long bundle of wire that might actually make it all the way to the fuse box (that is most likely the case). I think the cab light is the one that is going to be the problem. Do those wires also drop down behind the seat on the driver side?

It should run down, in between the inner and outer sheet metal, and exit behind the seat on the driver's side. Then, it should run beneath the bright step plate in a channel. Then, it goes to the fuse box.

I managed to thread the harness down from the top, but it took a ton of patience.That's also a good time to tap into the white dome light wire, down close to the dimmer switch and run a leg out to each kick panel, long enough to run up to a door switch. I just had the "rug" out of my truck and did that. I will add some OEM type jam switches later, after Goodguys. With the shorter days and DST ending, I find myself and my bride, getting in & out in the dark too often.
