Finally I installed my buddy buckets

Ok I am looking for your guys opinion. I bought this buddy bucket seat for $150 with the small cab brace and paid an additional $300 to have a local guy recover them. Do you like the color choice and do you think I got a good deal?

Here are some more before and after. Remember I only paid a total of $450 and I got the frame powder coated for free.

That's what I'm told. The guy I bought them from didn't know what he had. He has a 67 cst camper special for sale. Should go back and buy more parts from him.

Re: Finally I installed my buddy buckets

I think they look perfect.
You had done exactly what I want done. I have a set stock in my truck. Foam is good in both seats but top of console is torn and has uv exposure so not doing so well.
What I like is that they are NOT all vinyl. Vinyl gives you a sweaty back and butt. I love the fabric choice too.
As a matter of fact I will likely print your pic as an example to give to whomever I have recover mine.... If I don't do it myself. If I could get it done for $300 I would definitely pay to have it done.
Again, I think they are perfect!

Thank you. I did them in vinyl with the center done in a heavy tweed, will last a long time, very durable. I too do not like the sweaty back and butt.

The best part is that he is a "good ole boy", sells stuff cheap. Said he would sell the whole truck for $1200. What I want is the factory seat belts that he has.

Man, those are terrific for the price. You saved enough money to get a carpet kit for the tank, and then you'll be set.

Pretty much the whole truck!! I even traded him an old junky bench seat as part of the deal so that the truck would have some kind of seat for it. Plus he is in Stockton. I have his number still...

Re: Finally I installed my buddy buckets

Looks great!!!

I ALWAYS tell people to take their seats to a local upholstery shop. Look at what you get for the price....Spending $500 plus for new foam from a vendor, and $300 plus for the seatcovers is outrageous, and that is not even including installation! I got my buddy buckets done for just under $500, with new foam, and new houndstooth inserts from my local upholstery shop and I coudn't be happier.

I agree the guy who did mine did a great job and quoted me before he started and said no matter what it would not go any higher. That was great peace of mind. If anyone is near Lodi or even Sacramento I can give you his info to work for you. I have seen countless cars that he has done and everyone loves his work.
