Best supplier for weatherstripping
I could really use some help.
I have a 68 GMC C2500. I need to replace all the weather stripping and seals in my truck before the rust takes over. What is the best company to buy these supplies, and Rocker panels from. I see alot of companies carry them, but not all company's products are equal. |

Re: Best supplier for weatherstripping
Gore,
For doors, I've read here that a lot of people have used Dodge Dakota weatherstripping. It's not "correct", but they say it fits like a glove with no adhesive necessary. This post has a reference to it, available from board vendor GMC Paul's. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=489800 |

Go to the salvage yard and get the door weatherstrips. '86-'96 Dodge Dakota. You can find some nice ones for 10 bucks or less.... Take a phillips screwdriver, hammer, small pry bar, and a pick tool for cleaning out the heads on the phillips screws in the sill plate. LockDoc

Already mentioned by Regular Guy in post #2. Depends on whether you want to spend 10 bucks or 50 bucks. LockDoc

Re: Best supplier for weatherstripping
I was lucky enough to get rockers and cab corners from a local guy, they were tri-plus and they fit well.
I am sure some of the board vendors carry them, hopefully some one will post that info.

Re: Best supplier for weatherstripping
Mike Sorry I forgot to mention you!! Personally I only like the factory style weatherstrip and Soffseal is my choice. To me putting Dodge weatherstrip on one of my trucks I might as well put Dodge hubcaps on it also! LOL!
