You've got 10 grand(but dont have to use it all) and need to build the baddest streetable 427 sbc you can. No turbos or supercharges here. This is from carb to oil pan. You're already working with a built 4 speed tranny, 4.10 gears and 29" tall tires. You have your headers, march pulley system and the mounts on your custom suspension set up are for a sbc so no ls or bbc is in the cards. You want it pretty agressive but also reliable. What parts do you use, what is your estimated numbers for the engine and who do you get to build it for you. Thanks in advance engine gurus.

First things first. Don't even consider using a stock block!

I'm no engine expert, but I liked everything I saw until I read 'Pro Comp'

Re: Mi:427
I have bought parts from Skip White, he's big on the Ebayer sellin. He sells ALOT of Pro-Comp stuff. Matter of fact a buddy of mine is runnin his SS roller rockers on a 406. If I'm not mistaken, he's a racer himself. I kinda like the description but like djracer said, it's all in what you want the motor to do. Have you talked to Skip to get more specifics on the motor? I think the cam size listed is to small for one. See if he can build the motor with your specs. for the same price & you get your own dist., wires, plugs etc.... JMO

Re: Mi:427
check with these guys http://www.sunsetracecraft.com/ They are in lubbock. They mostly do big block stuff. I have heard good things about them.
I would avoid the Pro Comp stuff.
