Door Clicker; should there be play on the roller?

hey all, just wondering if there should be any kind of play on the roller for the door clicker. im talking about the part actually attached to the door that has the little roller on it, almost like a gear. mine moves back and forth a good bit, and im starting to wonder if this is the reason my doors wont close all the way. any info appreciated. thanks!

You're on the right track. My doors did the same. I tried to fix the roller from twisting out of line but ended up buying the part in your link.

Sometimes I have to close mine twice to get it to latch in the "all the way closed" position.
Most of the time it closes ok, but once in a while it only catches half way. I wonder if mine is worn too?

Re: Door Clicker; should there be play on the roller?

mine wiggles a lot. i dont have to be puching the button for the door to move it almost half a turn. can anyone verify that when the clicker mechanism is new, that there should be no wiggle or "play" in the "gear"? thanks
