Vin Question
I have been trying to figure my vin out and have not found any source that covers CE337Z... It is a 1 ton that had a massive frame mounted camper. Anyone got a lead?

Re: Vin Question
I think the second 3 must indicate camper. C=conventional, E=V8, 3=1 ton, 3=?(probably camper), 7=1967, Z=Fremont assy plant.

Re: Vin Question
Yeah that 3 is what I've been looking for. Thats what I was thinking it was so I'm guessing that style vin is rare.

Hello Hogrider, and welcome to the fourm. Your 3 stands for Chassis & Cab.

Re: Vin Question
that VIN isn't somewhat rare either. They made PLENTY of cab chassis trucks, in 10, 20 and 30 series. They are just uncommon to be fixed up these days.

Re: Vin Question
I did see they made a lot of the cab/chassis; couldnt figure out why that digit was not listed. Sure is a long truck! Its been in the family since early 70's. Used it on hunting trips. Campre was removed in 90's. It had a home made flat bed for years, now its just the cab/chassis. In good shape. Thanks for the info.

Re: Vin Question
Must be a GMC, but CE337Z still doesn't seem to jive. What is the 37 representing? A typo? Should be a 4?

Re: Vin Question
litew8... what is it that confuses you?
CE337Z... C conventional cab (2 wheel drive) E gas V8 engine 3 One ton C/30 3 Cab and chassis 7 1967 model year Z Fremont California build plant The rest of the VIN (not posted) is the sequental number This decodes perfectly as a Chevy. |

Re: Vin Question
I think I'm getting a cold. The 7 loks to be in the wrong place.
Still don't know if it's a GMC or not.

it's in the right place. The two 3's in a row makes it look funny. |
