Re: how to remove a trans from a 90 cheyenne

umm fairy easy
1. disconnect battery
2> remove starter
3. disconnect linkage, and tv cable
4. remove drive shaft
5. remove inspection cover
6 unbolt torque convertor
7. support the trans
8 loosen the bell housing bolts
9. loose and remove cross menber from trans
10. slide the trans back and lower out
to install just follow backward just make sure your torque convertor is fully seated

also make sure to reset the tv cable with the new trans if it is a 700r4 a misadjusted tv cable will burn up a transmission in about 10 mins

I did my first one at 17,omit the torque convertor/tranny lines from the previous post, and you have it.
Take a few minutes to unscrew the shift boot, and pull the 4 10mm bolts that takes the shifter assembly off, makes life much easier.
