rim fitment?

since i am upgrading the front brakes to discs i know that i need to change the rims since the drum brake rims will grind on the calipers. so i want to know up to what year of rim i can use before i need to either use adapters or spacers. what year did the offset of the rims change?

Re: rim fitment?

ITs not the offset, but the lip of the wheel. Any 71 up wheel should be fine.

Re: rim fitment?

What kind of wheel are you wanting? A stock steelie?

Any 15" wheel should be fine. Stock ralleys, etc...High offset wheels didn't come around til 1993 camaros and newer vettes.

What size and style wheel do you want?

Re: rim fitment?

probably 14" stock steelies for now, since the tires that are on the rims right now are still in really great shape. but if i have to go with something else i will. its good to know that the offset didn't change until the gen 4 body of the camaros.

Re: rim fitment?

You will probably have to pick up some 15" wheels. Any 14" wheel I have tried would not fit on a disc brake car. Go find some 7" ralleys, they are pretty cheap these days.
