92 4.3/5-speed truck stock radiator fan huffs LOUD! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've always thought while driving that the loud ass huffing noise coming from my truck was result of the megaphone exhaust tips on the back but found out today that its the stock fan under the hood.I mean its extremely loud. Louder than my buds HD truck with the extreme cooling fan clutch on it. Even his spins a bit when he stops the motor but mine stops with the motor exactly. It isn't completely frozen or anything. Feels fine with just as much drag as the others I've compared but mine seems to be stuck in the "when hot" setting. Even cold it is this stiff. Has anyone else had a problem like this? It is annoying and the truck would be a lot quieter without such noise. Just wanted others opinion before going to buy one.I see two listed, one for 3.42 and lower and one for 3.73 and higher gears, id need the second one. Just wanted to know what u guys thought.

That's a sign it's bad right there, You should be able to get at-least one rotation when spun cold.

Replace it and enjoy the savings at the pump !
