I've searched on door adjustment here but I still don't understand so hopefully someone can explain it to me in dummy terms.....My drivers door latches but doesnt close tight, it is about 1/4" ajar. As you know, there is no adjustment in the latch or door striker, so how on earth do I make my door shut tight?????

There i some adjustment on the stiker. Losen up the 4 bolts and tap it in a bit. It wont be much but it might help. If you close the door and latches but still moves in an out if you tug on it adjust striker. If its fully latched but doesnt move when you pull on it it could be the weather strip not allowing the door to close flush with the cab.

Well, it does latch but I can jiggle it. When you say to adjust the striker, thats where I dont understand. I loosened the screws and there is no movement so what am I adjusting?

you need to adjust the wedge on the lower part of door

The striker has glue or some type of sealant. After you losen the bolts pry the striker from tha cab. This will allow you to move it around a bit

Also, there should be two distinct "clicks" when you close the door slowly. If you are only getting the first one, then that is why it is jiggling a bit. But, as mentioned above, adjust that striker pad to let the door move in. What I found out in my old '60 was that you'd have to slam the door to get two clicks but then I realized there was slack in the inside door handle and if I took that slack out and then closed the door, it would shut super nice. These old worn out mechanisms will toy with you.

Sucess! The two click thing eluded me...lubed it up, played with the striker and BINGO! Another thing off the list!
