Distributor contacts

Had an intermittent problem where my '85 GMC wouldn't start. Finally figured out that if I pull off the distributor cap and wiped it out (or blew it out) it would fire right up. Eventually I realized that the aluminum contacts in the cap and rotor were the problem. Spent a little more on a cap/rotor that had brass contacts and that seems to have solved the problem.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

i have had that problem with anything less than delco parts on all of my gas trucks
