1970 C20 Windshield INstallation

Hey guys, quick question. I am going to be replacing the front windshield today or I am in the process of it. I have a new seal/gasket and am using the rope method. I am having some issues as it seems to be a rather tight fit.
Do you place the windshield and gasket on the bottom rail and seat it first then work your way around to the top or top to bottom? I used plenty of soap and water on the gasket so it shouldn't be this difficult. Maybe this is why the other guy had glued the windshield on before me....

That's a good video. You might also need a cotter pin removal tool to help pull the rubber over the pinchwelds, especially in the corners. Also, some light slapping with an open hand as the rubber starts to lay in place, helps. Make sure you stay behind the rope if you gently slap it. The bottom also has like a double lip, make sure it is pulled all the way over the bottom pinchweld. Good luck!
