88-93 Chevy seat in 55-59 Cameo

I have seen tons of people using the seats from 88-93 Trucks/subs in their TF trucks. I am using the original column, and more than likely a Lokar shifter. My question is how do you like the 88-92 seat compared to the original, and how is the seating position? Does it feel out of place without having a tilt column, and how difficult was the install?

Hi azsnow check my post about lokar shifter below yours you will see blue seat installed original was too far gone when I bought my truck.so I couldn't compare. Install is fairly easy as floor area is flat. I would use some flat strips of 3/16" for reinforcement underfloor where bolts go through. Position and comfort is good. I paid $50 for seat pictured so it was too good to pass up with no rips or burns

I see your pics and it looks good, but my question is what it would be like without a tilt? Is it still comfortable with your column in the straight up position? Did you get a shifter yet? If so, any pics?

i have a 99 trailblazer 60/40 seat in my 57 - very happy with it - if your gas take is out of the cab you get a lot of leg room. also if you have a non- tilt colume you can alway raise the base of the frame to fit what you need for comfortability .
