Bed floor fuel access door
Hey guys,
I recently installed my aluminum fuel cell from Boyds (Pictures on on my build thread in my signature). Being that this will be filled from inside the bed floor, what do you guys recommend as an access panel for a STEEL bed floor? I've seen alot of pics of other guys trucks, but they are mainly wood floors. A flat access cover like you see all over the internet would leave gaps on the underside of the access panels to the bed floor due to the ribs in the floor. Any ideas?

Instead of using a pre-fabed access door in the floor that you will have that gap, what if you make one yourself out of the cutout in the bed floor make a flush mount hinge from the bottom with a door popper to open it.... a little time and ingenuity and you could have something hidden, very cool, and something to brag about.

Thats not a bad idea at all!
Any idea's on what I could steal a hinge and popper latch from? I know I've seen them before, just dont know where.....

Looks like I'll be making a trip to the junkyard!
I was thinking about this today and I guess the easiest and cleanest way of doing this would be to used a hole saw to cut a perfectly round hole, then I'll just welding the center drill bit hole solid and install the hardware. May be a little tricking, but I think I can handle it for an amatuer welder! Let me know if you guys can think of any other vehicles that have popper type latches on the fuel doors.
