bumper swap

Will a bumper off a 86 with foglights work on my 83 will it be a straight bolt on?

I wish I knew for sure. I would think it would as long as you have the bumper brackets from the newer bumper. Since you mentioned the fog lights, I am thinking the mount points of the bumper would be different than thge 83s.

81-87 will bolt up, but 81-82 are different from 83-87 because of the turn signals in the bumper. It's a bolt-in deal.

if it has fog cutouts id say it is a aftermarket like lmc sells or a 81-82 bumper with fogs fitted in the signal holes

Either way, any 81-87 bumper will bolt up. You'll be fine.
