Disconnected the Brake Pedal Return Spring to replace Brake Booster Pushrod Firewall Boot. Really strugging to reattach the spring. Anyone got any tips on how to reattach?

The way to take it off is to put spacers (such as screwdrivers) in the coils to keep it expanded - that works for hood springs. You might be able to do it now but it would be easier if you could extend it somehow and get the screwdrivers, etc in the coils, then install it.

Does that work? Makes me want to remove a hood spring to test it.

As long as I've worked on mechanical things and as old as I am, I still learn something new.
