Clutch Fork Install Question
I have a 72 blazer 4x4 with a sm465 4 speed. The tcase and tranny were already in the truck and I goofed and installed the motor without putting the clutch fork in. Can the clutch fork be installed without removing the transmission or motor? It looks like I can disengage the clutch (read pry on the throw-out bearing) a tad and almost do it....anybody ever try this? Otherwise I am pulling the motor back out.

Re: Clutch Fork Install Question
I have not had to do it but it seems like if you were to slide the transmission/transfer case rearward a little bit then you could install the clutch
fork. If you swap out the bell housing to engine bolts with longer ones then you can maintain the alignment of the the transmission to the engine. You might get by with leaving the cross member in to support the transmission transfer case as I don't think that you will have to move the assembly rearward very far to give you enough room to snap the clutch fork onto the ball. Just a thought, good luck! Jim
