Axle questions

Im building a 1967 Chevy longbed k20 stepside and I'm having trouble figuring out what axle will fit under it. I have two axles lined up for it. Either an eaton ho52 out of a 72 Chevy or a 14 bolt out of a later suburban. I recently had to use the 14 bolt under a 72 two wheel drive to get it in the garage because the eaton was to short to match the springs on it, why is that. Any help would be great thanks.

Re: Axle questions

Did the eaton come out of a 2 wheel drive? Maybe a one ton?
I would personally recomend the later model 14 bolt anyways since parts are still being made for it at least.

Re: Axle questions

I chose to go with late model 14 bolt because it has factory disc brakes... They dont have the same mounting pad spacing so it will need new spring perches welded on... but a new set of PERCHES are cheap and other parts are easy to get at any auto parts place...

I also have a late model 14 Bolt with disc brakes for sale... . It came out of a 2005 GMC crewcab and it has the factory built in emergency brake.... PM for specifics.

Re: Axle questions

The eaton came out of a 72 four wheel
