Poly cab bushing question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Replaced the cab bushings with a Energy Suspension kit. The front cab bushings have a 5/16 gap from the top of the bushing to the bottom of the cab. None of the bolts are tight yet, just the weight of the cab sitting on them. Rear of cab is resting on bushing and radiator support is resting on bushing, just not the center bushing. Had to stop working on it tonight cause of the kids, but this is going to bug me all night. Will the bushings compress and all is good?

Not energy but similar. Check my thread. Mine haven't been tightened yet.

After some research I found out there is a difference between 1/2 & 3/4 ton cab bushings. Anyone know the difference?

3/4t (also 1t & fwd) are taller. The mount on the frame is located lower. So,1/2t 2wd are by themselves.

Don't tighten them down to remove the gap, or you will twist the cab, making your doors not fit. Add shims so you don't put stress on the cab.

Mine is a 3/4 ton frame and some of my pictures I outlined the difference between 3/4 and 1/2 ton.
