Vent window pivot ?
I disassembled my vent windows a couple of months ago. Now that I am putting them back together I have forgotten what order the washers go on the shaft. Anyone have a close up picture or a detailed diagram showing the pivot shaft, spring and washer/spacers? thanks

Re: Vent window pivot ?
Depending on the year (may be on all), there are a couple of rivets that I drilled out to change out the window seals. May need to get a rivet gun (pretty cheap from auto parts store) to put them back in.

Re: Vent window pivot ?
Looks like that's out of an LMC catalog.
www.lmctruck.com and find your year truck and the window parts. They'll be a diagram just like that one for yours.

Re: Vent window pivot ?
Looks like it's just the washers, then the spring, then the nut to hold it all in place. What pieces do you have? I did mine a few years ago, but don't remember any special order for the washers.
I'd say the washers would sandwich the spacers.

Re: Vent window pivot ?
I installed the pivot stop washer and composite washer on the inside of the bracket, then the round slotted metal washer, then the spring, then nut and nut holder. This seems to give me the correct height so the vent window hinge lines up.

Re: Vent window pivot ?
I'm in the process of doing this now. Mine were previously untouched and were like this from TOP to BOTTOM as it sits in the truck:
<frame channel for rubber seal> travel stop slotted washer 2 fiber washers <riveted bracket> slotted washer spring (added washer here) slotted tab washer nut The washer I added was just because my tab washers were getting pretty thin and wanted to keep the spring end from chewing them up any more. |
