Cruise Control
Does anyone have any suggestions or know of someone that makes an aftermarket cruise control kit for an LS3?

Re: Cruise Control
do you have the Drive By Wire throttle body? If so, its just a matter or wiring up some sort of switch to make it all work. The hard stuff is already there.

Re: Cruise Control
Ls3's are usually not that easy. In more recent years the cruise is controlled by the BCM. What is the engine out of? What PCM are you using and also what OS?

Re: Cruise Control
On my TPI conversions, I use the mid 90s up style GM cruise control. It is a simple wire hookup. All you need is a 4000 pulse per mile signal which is usually available from the PCM as a speedometer signal or a radio speed signal.

Re: Cruise Control
The ones I have done are throttle by cable. On throttle by wire I don't know but I think it would be very similar.
For throttle by cable it's just stock Cruise Control for most mid 90's up GM cable throttle cars and trucks. The hookup is simple. Ground, ignition switched, 4000 pulse/mile, brake, then the wires from the switches on the column (on, set, resume). I have done a few of these. Mid-90s trucks have an almost stand alone harness that just plugs into the cruise module, fuse box, brake switch, and column switch. The hardest part of the swap is finding throttle body brackets for your application. I have used a Vortec truck one, it has a long cable. I have used a TBI truck one, it has a short cable. I have used a Cutlass Ciera type and it has a really short cable. They all hook up and work the same.

Re: Cruise Control
Here is one I did on a Corvette. It's hard to see, but 1 photo shows the box and the other the throttle body and cable. This one is from a Vortec truck.

Are you really going to drive the truck long enough distances that you will really need it? I know I use mine all the time, but just throwing it out there. Posted via Mobile Device |
