what about the gauges

on the back of the temp, gasand ammeter gauge do the wires just plug in? how do u get them out. how do you unhook the tail light wires from the fire wall.

Gauge harness unplugs..depress a release tab on the plug. Tail light harness pulls out of fuse block under hood AFTER you remove the center bolt. If bolt doesn't volunteer to come out, tap on it meaningfully, but not too hard...should break the the 33 year seal loose enough to turn out.

The tail light harness plugs into the fire wall...just tug on it and it'll unplug.

Looking at the tail light harness again, you have to pry it out a little, has a built in grommet so-to-speak. Once you pop it out of the firewall, you can unplug it.
