A couple of option sticker questions
Guys, a couple of quick questions:
1) If my option sticker doesn't list an engine, the truck would have started life as a straight six of some kind, right? I know I could decode the VIN to know for sure, but what would the base engine have been in a '70? 2) My option sticker lists a Dark Olive cloth seat. What would that have looked like? I assume it's not the full vinyl cover, but instead has the cloth panels with a vinyl strip down the center? Anybody got pics?

Re: A couple of option sticker questions
2wd VIN starting with CS is an I6 and CE is a V8. If an optional I6 or V8 was ordered it would show on the SPID.
The seat will have vinyl scroll and a polyester lace fabric i the seating areas. The scroll on viyl comes down the center of the seat.

Re: A couple of option sticker questions
Thanks, K.
I have zero knowledge of the straight 6's, what would have been the base engine, vs an optional I6?

Re: A couple of option sticker questions
For 1970:
Base engine for an I6 is the 250, optional is the 292. Base engine for a V8 is the 307, optional is the 350 or 400 (big block).

Re: A couple of option sticker questions
. . . .
Here's a picture of an original seat, with the scroll pattern in the middle and two pictures of what the pattern for the cloth looks like ( only in blue ) . . . . |
