What's this truck worth?

I'm thinking about making an offer on this 1967 SWB fleetside. It has a 350? 3 on the tree, PS, PB, wood bed. What does everyone thing it's worth?

Re: What's this truck worth?

I would say 3500 or more. Would have to see it in person to determine the more!

Re: What's this truck worth?

My guess is that he will not accept anything less than at least $7500 for it. The caveat is that it in fact is as good as the photo shows. You have to give it a pretty thorough inspection for bondo and especially rust above the windshiled cab area. That is a common rust problem and not easy to repair.

It looks to be in great shape from the picture. The value is determined by how anxious he is to sell and how anxious you are to buy it.

Re: What's this truck worth?

I just looked at a 71 in similar shape. It has a six cylinder with 3 on the tree, clean truck, he is asking $8500.00
Keep in mind, where you reside in the good old U.S.A. will determine value also.

Re: What's this truck worth?

That's a good looking truck, but I see a few things wrong.

The bed is not a '67, it has side marker lights, '67 beds didn't have side marker lights.

It looks like the cab and the bed are not lined up properly. Probably not a big deal to fix. But, to me, it takes away from the value of the truck.

It's worth what you're willing to pay for it I suppose, but I'm thinking probably $4,000 to $5,000 is all I would be willing to pay.

I'd look close; black firewall / blue rad support? I'd look at it and tell the seller you want to sleep on it, research it's worth based on condition, ask questions of "peers" then call an offer in. Maybe cell phone spy pics? It's your money, no one elses.

Also check to see if the frame has been shortened. The cut would be right behind the cab and should have a plate on the inside of the frame or the frame should be boxed in that area. (or just ask if it has) If done correctly I don't consider it a problem but you never know who's doing the welding...

Re: What's this truck worth?

Thanks for the info and input everyone.

The seller does have a price - I was curious to see what people said it was worth, rather than agree/disagree on the price I might offer.

The body is in good shape. The paint is older and there's not much rust showing. The rockers are ok, but I would probably replace them at some point. Thanks for the heads up on the area above the windshield GMSEE. I didn't know that, and I didn't look at that on this truck.

I noticed the bed being the wrong year when I looked at it. Sort of funny with lights in the back and not the front. At some point I assume the bed or bedsides were replaced. I think the mounts under the bed are newer than the cab mounts - hence the misalignment. Does that make sense?

I believe the truck was black originally or at some point. The inside of the cab is a combination of black and blue and the radiator support is actually black, with blue over-spray.

I actually looked at this truck last weekend, and have looked at a few others since, but I keep coming back to this one. I'm thinking about going to look at it again. Anything else I should look at?

Re: What's this truck worth?

I would not offer much for it. box does not line up with cab, driver fender has a pucker in it. mudd in the door bottom early 80's motor. few wire webs under the hood also. Be conservative on your first offer let he-or-she return offer of price and go from there. $2500 is not to far out whack for a price. There is work to be done on er. cost add's up quickly and the daily driver soon turns into a show queen $$$$$$$ later down the road. I hate to see you get a raw deal and be another one who gives up the love of an old vehicle.

Re: What's this truck worth?

I am by no means an expert on pricing these trucks at all. But I feel like it would be reasonable in the $3000 to $4000 range. I might be off a little or ALOT . You might consider offering $3000 cash in 20 dollar bills. That would be a big wad of money. And of course Christmas is right around the corner, so the seller might be able to use the money.

Oh yeah by the way welcome from from North Texas and the truck does look pretty nice from where I sit.

Good Luck!

Re: What's this truck worth?

it looks ok by the pics. there are some pannel fit up issues. I really don't care for the color and the paint looks like it has some issues. It really depends on the things we can't currently see. hidden rust and what the underside of the truck looks like. 2500-3500.

That would be the problem. Our trucks never had mounts under the bed. If you take them out it would line up OK...

Re: What's this truck worth?

Matt,
If he replied to your ad, he is likely going to want the max $$$$ for it. I'd look around some more. Just a quick look found a nice little red '67 in fairview and a 2 owner '67 in wilkesboro. Both in the $1500 range. If you really like the blue truck do the research. Decide what it is worth to you and it's value on the local market.

Re: What's this truck worth?

Regardless what is worth the owner has a price in his head that he is willing to let it go for it is just a matter of the buyer willing to meet that price. Good luck and take pictures when you bring it home. I would buy it for 2,500-3,000 based on the Picts

Re: What's this truck worth?

Be sure and check up under the dash. look behind the glove box and instrument cluster, in the corners for rot. this is were water will sit if it dont drain from the cowl. also look around the vent openings in the kick panels.
