1951 Chevy "Grain Truck"
Attached are two photo's of a truck I just picked up off the original owners. Odometer shows 72,xxx miles and I'd say the body is 80% rust free original. It was stored inside most of its life, and was last parked in 1990. Surprisingly all of the tires still hold air...barely.. but were good enough to have it towed home. I am sure I am forgetting something about it but was interested if anyone had any advice to share/offer about it. If I am going to put it on the road its going to need tires and it has the split "suicide" rims which I know sometimes it is hard to find anyone to work on them. Also.... they used tamper proof fasteners in 51? I can't seem to figure that out, and I tried to do a search on google and on this site with very little luck. Any help there?

not sure what fasteners your referring to but if your talking about screw heads my guess would be clutch heads. if that is what your referring to then I've always used a flat head screw driver ground to size to remove them. you can also buy a driver set that comes in three sizes I think.

that could be, I did see the clutch name before. It looks like a hour glass..... kind of.

Thanks! The plan is to get that clutch head tool, and get the interior stripped and hopefully get the mice smell out of it. Then work on getting it running.

Re: 1951 Chevy "Grain Truck"
The current plan is to get it streetable and then use it for a few various things. After that I have no idea. I like the fact that its all original so I probably wont do any custom setups.
