What would you guys choose?

I am considering buying another suburban(sold my '89 a couple of yrs. ago), but I can't decide if this time if I would rather buy another tbi(87-95) or go with something older that has a carb. I liked the driveability and the one belt system of the tbi, but it was a pain to drop the 40 gal. tank when the fuel pump went out. And I like the simplicity of the carb(block mounted fuel pump, no sensors), although tbi seems simple as far as fuel injection goes. What would you guys buy? Thanks for any suggestions.

I know where there is a '69 3 door suburban with an LS1 and 700R for $1,800.00, pretty darn straight vehicle, about 200-225 miles from you

Re: What would you guys choose?

i had this discussion with my dad (40 years experienced technician). It came down to this i said them new motors would be nice in something you could drive alot he replied they drove them every day cross country back then to. (can't believe i said that i have all carb engines beside one)I believe in carbs especially Q-jets and properly set up they do just as good and are super easy to fix like you said fuel pump especially and what just a few wires.
i love the older sub. too

Re: What would you guys choose?

Yes, I think I like the easy to fix part the best. In the 28 yrs. I have drove 67-72 trucks, they have been to a mechanic once. And I don't consider myself a skilled mechanic.
