Auto column shifter tabs?

I really do not know what to call them but on my 64 auto column there are 3 metal tabs that hold the shift indicator to the actual steering column. 2 of the tabs are broken off and one of the broken ones were found. Has anyone ever tried welding these back on or have any idea on a good fix. Will it maybe interchange with some other older chevy car part because from what I have read these auto truck columns are hard to come by.I have tried doing some searching online but have sort of come up dry.
-Thanks

These are what I am talking about. I pulled the tube and tried welding today but one broke off in the way back in. I am not much of a welder though

Re: Auto column shifter tabs?

welding them back would be best, and fabricate the fourth, going to have to mig with gas probably .025 wire and a good machine for lower heat settings, Ideally you would want to tig that back together. make sure it is clean as you can get it, and no rust.
good luck.

I have a pretty good mig Century 180 220v with a bottle and small wire. I am just not very good at using it. I tabbed the third. Where does the fourth go? Any pics available for reference?

If I recall, there are only three, the turn signal switch sits on top of them right?
