Recently running 1978 Big Block 454 engine carb to pan

I just finished parting out a 78 big 10 1/2 ton 454 truck. The body was rough but it was used as a daily driver. The motor ran great. My plan was to put it in a 66 Caprice I have but after looking at our finances I have decided to sell both the project and the motor. I recently had twins and the doctor bills are burying me right now. I'm just going to punt on this one so I can get going on my Suburban after I get caught up again.

Most of it has been cleaned up and degreased other than the pan and valve covers ( I was going to have to use a car pan and chrome covers) I bought a new Felpro gasket set that cost $80.00 alone and I will include it was the engine. All I was going to do was re-gasket it and paint it since it ran so well. I will include the factory carb also. Some of the brackets were all ready sold since I needed to use all my 66 396 parts in the car. It you need a core to build a race motor or just need something to get your car or truck back on the road this is a great deal. If you don't have a way to haul it I am willing to help out there with in reason.

Looking to get $600.00 complete with the new gasket set.

Might help your sale if you provide the head casting numbers. Price is pretty good imo for a running motor + gaskets, especially if it has decent heads on it.

The block is 361959 and the heads are a matched pair 336781 113cc oval ports dated 1978. I would be willing to bet its never been apart based on the original paint that was under all the grease and grime.

Wish you were closer. I would like to have this. The 781 heads are arguably the best BBC heads produced. Not including the really HiPo car stuff.

Just come on up and hang out for a weekend. Richard isn't too far from my place.

I can but its going to take a day for me to get there and back. If you were local or close to local I would do it for free but I would have to add $200.00
I could drop it down some if I find a car or something on a paid haul so its not a trip from just the motor. The sooner I know for sure the sooner I can look for something else to haul.

I would go get it myself but I'm working 7 days a week and don't have the time.
$800 is a little more than can swing at the moment.

Lots of nibbles but still here. If you are willing to pay freight I will crate and ship it. Expect $200-300 to ship though from my experience.

Do you have the P/S cooler? been looking for one, the weird shape tubing thing that bolts to the front of the core support? Also looking for factory dual exhaust brackets, would take any that you have...........trying to restore, kind of, my 78 blazer. Finding ll the options it was delivered with but gone when i bought it a couple of months ago.

Pm'me if interested

Thanks,
Steve
