Beautiful truck, man. I really love the color combo. There's a shortbox near where I work that looks very similar (but it's a 4x4 with a topper).

Re: My green 1976 GMC C15 454
the truck currently has just over 400k on it was daily driven until 2006 then i restored it.
before the motor work the truck with the reman motor went 13.90 at 98 i havent run it yet this year but it now has extensively ported heads and combustion chamber work along with bigger valves. and the heads have been angle milled to get the compression up to around 8.3ish to 1 the pictures are with just the intake and headers and carb work stall and headers it dead hooks on the street with drag radials so the pictures are kind of decieving it runs a mean 1/8th mile for what it is, btw truck weighs just a hair over 5000lbs with me in it and a full tank of gas i dont have a clue what it will run now but it should definately go alot better then it was before |

Re: My green 1976 GMC C15 454
That is a very sharp truck!
I've got to ask though, cause I also have the 454. If take it easy on the gas, what's your best mpg? I am only getting 10mpg on a good day with it being totally stock. Did the headers help with the mpg? I am considering adding headers and a mild towing cam.

Re: My green 1976 GMC C15 454
i honestly dont pay much attention to gas mileage i do know that the cam and 4.11s hurt it pretty bad. at one point with 2.73's i could pull off 12-13 but now im guessing it is down around 8-9 but i rarely drive nice

Beautiful truck. Saw that grill Sunday at the pick-n-pull, wanted to buy it but it was missing a piece on the upper lip. Love to see the rare.

Re: My green 1976 GMC C15 454
400k, I love it! at a 12mpg average thats 33333.333 gallons of fuel ran through that big block! we are talking a half dozen tanker trucks! lets see, average feul cost fro 76 to 06? do we even want to know? @ $2.00 its a scary number but @ $3.00 its even scarier than the number of the beast!
