1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
Hello,
I just picked up a nice deluxe shortbed Apache. I plan on restoring it for my work truck. I will be putting a flatbed on it so I will be posting the original bed with the rare stainless trim in the classifieds soon. I hate to remove the bed but it will just get buggered working so it will hopefully find a new home on someone elses truck. If anyone has any good links to flatbed plans...please let me know. I will post some pics soon. I agree that its a shame to pull the bed..but I hate to use it for working. It deserves to be on a show truck not a work truck.

Re: 1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
Jafo, sounds like a nice truck, every one is correct pictures are required.
In the proccess of turning mine into a flatbed. However I am not going the traditional route for a bed. Mine is set to have the wheel wells inset up and into the bed to keep it low. I made my own bed frame and cross sills. I wasn't able to find wheel wells/tubs localy so I had to order special made wheel wells for it to work out right but I'm very happy so far. I should have the tubs sometime late this week or early next week. I'll post a pic as soon as the arrive. |

Re: 1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
Thanks for the kind words.....the truck is original and runs/drives fairly well for a old truck. Can anyone give me a ballpark value on this truck?

Re: 1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
In my opinion the bed is great. I think someone would look for a long time to find another in this shape....especialy one that someone is willing to part with.

Re: 1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
r you wanting to sell the whole trk or just the bed. ALTHOUGH RARE BIG PARTS SUCH AS THE BED ARE A TOUGH SALE UNLESS YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR THE BUYER TO PICK UP THEMSELF. THE TRIM IS A DIFFERENT STORY CAN BE SHIPPED EASILY AND IS VERY HARD TO FIND. theres a fellow on my craigs list thats been TRYING to sell that side trim for$1000.00 I emailed him to see if he ment 100.00 but never got back with me. its been well over a year and I still see it from time to time.
just my opinion i rather 2 tone and pin stripe that bullet all that chrome is not my thing.

Re: 1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
I want to sell the trim or whole bed. Got a few lowball offers so I will probably end up keeping it. I thought a collector woud want it...i prefer to sell the bed. I will sell the whole truck for the right price.

Re: 1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
I think you might have better luck on eBay for the trim and bed, maybe even for the truck itself...

Have you come up with a price yet, the bed alone or the whole truck.

Re: 1959 Apache shortbed fleetside Deluxe
I acquired a set of bedside stainless and since they don't reproduce these pieces they go for way more than 100 dollars. While I didn't pay 1000 dollars for mine, a set with minimimal clean up should go for about that much. Sad but true. I think that it makes the truck go from good to great.
